Teachers and students undergo in-depth training at grassroots military camps and help cultivate artistic talents by visiting frontiers and islands, writing articles and singing songs about soldiers, painting pictures of them, and creating literary and artistic programs to enrich the spiritual and cultural lives of the soldiers. The activities of teaching, research and creation have been carried out to develop a system of artistic education with distinct characteristics of army life.

It has established more than a dozen bases for off-campus practice and teaching, hires experts and scholars with abundant teaching experience as guest professors, regularly invites famous writers, artists and celebrities to give lectures, actively organizes renowned teachers to carry out research and study at colleges and schools for both military and civil purposes, and pursues the extensive exchange and sharing of advanced teaching experience and scientific research.
